The Legocreek Fire/Rescue was founded on June 16, 1996. The services provided by the department provides the citizens of Legocreek with a full time paid department that covers 50 square miles with a population of 200,000 residents. During the holidays that population can swell over 240,000 residents during working hours. The fire protection, emergency medical services, motor vehicle extrication, hazardous materials response, urban search and rescue, confined space rescue, and swift water rescue. Each company has three separate shifts of firefighters who work 24 hours on, 48 hours off, 24 hours on, 72 hours off. The department is lead by the chief of the department who is in charge of the day to day operations of the fire department and commanding fire ground operations at large incidents.
